PD After 5: Humor, Emotion and Wit in Branding

Be Heard … And remembered

“I laughed, I cried, I remembered: Humor, Emotion and Wit in Branding.”

Almost all of us are subjected to advertising, branding and marketing messages on a daily basis, whether we want it or not. Most say this type of messaging is annoying noise that clutters our lives, and much of it ends up being forgettable.

Consumers are able to tune out a “hard sell” message and ignore or skip it completely. However, making an emotional connection can often have the opposite effect: A consumer may choose to remember the brand or messaging, because it perhaps was unexpected, made them laugh, or even made them cry.

Learn more….register today for month’s program on Wednesday, January 25! Wall-to-Wall Studios will share some client case studies that utilize humor, emotion or wit to stand out against the competition.

Speaker Larkin Werner is partner and creative director at Wall-to-Wall Studios Inc, a branding agency with offices in Pittsburgh, PA, and Honolulu, HI. He spends most mornings in his studio thinking about lunch

IABC Worldwide Member Month Coming in February

February 2012 is a worldwide Membership Month. This means that for new or lapsed members who join or re-join, IABC will waive the application fee (US$40/CDN$40/AUS$40/€30 for faxed/mailed/phoned enrollments; US$30/CDN$30/AUS$30/€22.50 for Internet enrollments).

Please remember: Applications must be received at the San Francisco headquarters office during the month of February to qualify. This promotion does not affect renewing members, transitional members or students, who are exempt from the application fee.

In this price-sensitive economy, everyone is looking for a bargain. This is one of our most popular promotions, so be sure to let your prospects and lapsed members know.

Important: Please note that the promotion runs during the month of February, Pacific Standard Time (UTC/GMT -8 hours). If you are in another time zone, the discount may not be activated at IABC until later in the day of 1 February or possibly 2 February  your time. The good news is that you get an extra day at the end of the month.
