More than a Newsletter
You regularly receive the IABC/Pittsburgh Job Placement Newsletter giving members the heads-up on job openings usually before they are advertised. Often they never are. That’s a great membership bonus, but there’s more. Did you know that employers search the service for potential hires?
Scenario 1 – Employers Directly Contact the Service for Leads
Here’s how:
Employers call IABC looking for communications professionals. The job placement director forwards resumes of members who fit the qualifications.
Result:
IABC resume-listers get the interview and first crack at available jobs.
Scenario 2 – Employers Search Member Ads
Here’s how:
Employers look at ads placed by members and subscribers and request number-coded resumes.
Result:
IABC ad-placers get the interview.
About the Employers
Who are these employers? Most are major Pittsburgh-area businesses and organizations, including agencies, corporations and non-profits. Some are smaller concerns. A few are head-hunters.
Who are they looking for? It varies. Some want entry level employees. Some need more seasoned professionals. Others are looking for executives with years of experience. All of them are looking for communications professionals.
Want Employers to Seek You Out?
It happens to many of those who use the IABC/Pittsburgh Job Placement Service. An employer calls to schedule an interview and ends up making an offer. But it can only happen to you if you place your resume with the service. It’s easy.
